About this tool

Every unit is defined relative to the newton metre, the metric unit of torque, also called moment of force. It is the twisting effect of one newton applied at one metre from a pivot. Your input is first converted to newton metres, then divided into each target unit, so the whole set stays consistent. Foot-pounds and inch-pounds are the common imperial torque units on wrenches and fasteners, where one foot-pound equals twelve inch-pounds and about 1.356 newton metres.
