How to convert an angle
Type a value
Enter your angle in the input field at the top.
Pick its unit
Choose whether the value is in degrees, radians, gradians, turns, arcminutes or arcseconds.
Read every unit
The full conversion table and the degrees-minutes-seconds breakdown update instantly.
Copy a result
Adjust precision or normalize to a single turn, then copy any value you need.
Why use this tool
Six units at once
One value converts to degrees, radians, gradians, turns, arcminutes and arcseconds together, so you never chain two tools.
Degrees-minutes-seconds
See the full DMS breakdown for surveying, navigation and astronomy alongside the decimal results.
Radians as multiples of pi
Radian output is also shown as a clean multiple of pi when the value lines up, such as 1/2 pi for a right angle.
Normalize to one turn
Wrap any angle into the 0 to 360 degree range with a single toggle, handling negatives and huge inputs.
Adjustable precision
Slide decimal places from 0 to 10 to match the accuracy your work needs.
Private and instant
Every conversion runs on your device as you type. No upload, no signup.
About this tool
The angle converter turns a single value into every common angular unit at once. Enter a number, choose whether it is in degrees, radians, gradians, turns, arcminutes or arcseconds, and read the matching value in all of the others without any extra steps.
Degrees split a full circle into 360 parts and are the everyday unit for geometry and direction. Radians measure angle by arc length and are the natural unit for trigonometry and calculus, where a full turn equals 2 pi. Gradians divide the circle into 400 parts and appear in surveying. Turns count whole revolutions, so one turn is a full circle. Arcminutes and arcseconds are fine subdivisions of a degree, with 60 arcminutes in a degree and 60 arcseconds in an arcminute, used in astronomy and precise navigation.
Because the fields are all linked to a shared internal value, changing the number or its unit updates the whole table instantly. The degrees-minutes-seconds breakdown is handy for coordinates and star charts, while the multiple-of-pi form keeps radian answers readable. Turn on normalize to fold any angle, including negatives and many full rotations, back into a single 0 to 360 degree turn.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert degrees to radians?
- Type your value, keep the unit set to degrees, and read the radians row. The tool multiplies by pi and divides by 180, so 180 degrees becomes 3.14159 radians, shown as 1 pi.
- What is the degrees-minutes-seconds breakdown?
- DMS splits a decimal degree into whole degrees, arcminutes and arcseconds. For example 45.51 degrees becomes 45 degrees, 30 arcminutes and 36 arcseconds, which is common in navigation and astronomy.
- What does normalize to 0 to 360 do?
- It wraps the angle into a single full turn. An input of 450 degrees becomes 90 degrees, and negative angles wrap forward, so -90 degrees becomes 270 degrees.
- Why is a radian value shown as a multiple of pi?
- Many angles are cleaner as a fraction of pi, such as 1/2 pi for 90 degrees. The tool shows that form when the value lines up and falls back to a decimal otherwise.
- Is there a limit on the numbers I can enter?
- You can enter any finite number, including large or negative values. Invalid or empty input simply shows a hint instead of a result.
- Does my data leave my device?
- No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser as you type. Nothing is uploaded and there is no signup.
