About this tool
Signing a document usually means printing it, signing it, scanning it, and emailing back something crooked and grey. This does the same job without the printer. Open a PDF, make a signature, put it where the line is, and download the file with every page still in it. The page you signed is not extracted; you get the whole document back.
A signature can come from three places. Draw one with a mouse, a trackpad, or a finger on a phone. Type your name and pick from six handwriting styles, from formal calligraphy to something closer to a felt tip. Or photograph the signature you already write on paper and upload it: the white of the paper is removed automatically, so what lands on the page is the ink and nothing else.
Placement is the part most tools get wrong. Here a signature goes wherever you click, then drags freely, resizes from its corner, rotates, and fades if it needs to sit more naturally on the page. Arrow keys move it a fraction at a time for landing exactly on a signature line. The thumbnail rail down the side marks which pages already carry a mark, and one button copies a signature or a set of initials onto every page at once. Today’s date and short text drop on the same way.
Word files are accepted too. A .docx is rebuilt as pages you can see before you sign, though the layout is reconstructed rather than copied, so line and page breaks can land differently than they did in Word. Old .doc files are not supported. If you need to change the document itself first, crop the pages, merge it with another file, or add a watermark.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the signed PDF the complete document?
- Yes. Every page comes back in the download, in its original order and at its original size. Only the marks you placed are added; nothing else about the file is rewritten.
- Is my document uploaded anywhere?
- No. The document, your signature, and the finished file are all handled on your own computer. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
- Does it remember my signature for next time?
- No, and that is deliberate. A signature is not something worth leaving in browser storage where anyone else using the same computer could find it. Drawing or typing it again takes a few seconds.
- Can I sign a Word document?
- A .docx is rebuilt as pages you can sign, and the result is shown before you sign so you can check it. Because a Word file does not store fixed pages, line breaks, page breaks and tables can shift. For an exact match, save it as a PDF in Word first. Old .doc files are not supported.
- What image formats work for an uploaded signature?
- PNG, JPG and WebP. A photo on white paper has the paper removed automatically. A PNG that is already cut out with a transparent background is used as it is.
- Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
- It places a visible signature on the page, which is what most agreements ask for, but it does not add a cryptographic certificate or an audit trail. Where a certified digital signature is required, use a service built for that.
