Why use this tool

Two reversal scopes

Each line flips word order row by row and keeps your line breaks in place. Whole text reverses every word across the entire text so the last word comes first.

Words stay intact

Only the order of words changes. Each word keeps its spelling, capitalization, and attached punctuation, so nothing turns into scrambled letters.

Instant as you type

Every keystroke re-reverses the text, and switching scope reworks the same input. You never retype anything.

Built for lists and logs

Paste a long list or an exported column and flip the word order on every line at once. The output box scrolls instead of stretching the page.

Private and free

The reversal is plain text work on your own device. No account, no server, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

About this tool

This tool reverses the order of words while leaving each word untouched. In Each line scope, the words on every line flip end for end, so a line that reads the quick brown fox comes back as fox brown quick the, and your line breaks stay exactly where they were. In Whole text scope, every word across the entire text is reversed, so the very last word becomes the first. Punctuation and capitalization ride along with each word, and the output updates live as you type.

Each line scope is the practical one for lists: paste a column of names, tags, or log entries and flip the word order on every row at once. Whole text scope is handy for turning a sentence into a back-to-front version for puzzles, riddles, or playful posts. If you need to reorder whole lines rather than the words inside them, the line sorter sorts A to Z, removes duplicates, and trims. To flip characters or line order instead of word order, the text reverser covers those modes.

Reversing word order is different from reversing characters: the letters inside each word are never touched, so words stay readable rather than becoming mirror writing. Whitespace is preserved, so single spaces, wide gaps, and blank lines survive the flip, and running the tool twice returns your original text. Everything happens in your browser, so pasted text never leaves your device. To measure the text before or after flipping, the word counter reports words, characters, and lines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Each line and Whole text?
Each line reverses the word order within every line and leaves your line breaks in place, so two lines stay as two lines with their words flipped. Whole text reverses every word across the entire text as a single sequence, so the last word of the last line becomes the very first word. Use Each line for lists where each row should flip on its own, and Whole text for a single sentence or paragraph.
Does this reverse the letters in each word too?
No. Only the order of words changes; the letters inside each word are left exactly as they are, so every word stays readable. If you want to flip characters end to end or flip line order instead, the text reverser handles those modes.
What happens to punctuation and line breaks?
Punctuation attached to a word travels with that word, so hello, world! becomes world! hello,. In Each line scope every line break stays put and only the words on each line move. In Whole text scope the line breaks are kept, but because the whole sequence is reversed the words from your last line come first.
Can I reverse the word order of a long list or export?
Yes. Paste the whole list and choose Each line, and the word order flips on every row at once, no matter how many lines you paste. The output box scrolls on its own instead of stretching the page, so large pastes stay manageable.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The word order reverser runs entirely in your browser. Your text never leaves your device, never touches a server, and is not stored or logged. Once the page has loaded, it even works offline.
