HEIC to JPG Converter

HEIC is the photo format iPhones have used since iOS 11, and JPG is the one everything else opens. Converting swaps the container and re-encodes the pixels, so the JPG is usually larger than the HEIC but opens on Windows, in older apps, and on any upload form.

How to convert HEIC to JPG online

About this tool

HEIC is the High Efficiency Image Container format that iPhones have used by default since iOS 11. Apple adopted it because it stores photos at roughly half the file size of JPEG at comparable quality, which saves a lot of space across a camera roll. The trade-off is compatibility: Windows machines, older editing software, and plenty of upload forms either refuse .heic files outright or cannot display them, which is usually the moment people go looking for a converter.

This tool converts HEIC and HEIF photos to JPG entirely in your browser. Drop any number of files, set the quality slider, and press Convert. Two expectations worth setting. JPG is a lossy format, so the conversion re-encodes the image, though at the default 90 percent the difference is not visible. And because HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPEG, the converted file is often larger than the original; that is normal. If the results need to be smaller, lower the quality slider or run them through the image compressor afterwards.

There is no fixed limit. Photos convert one after another on your device, so very large batches are bound by your computer's memory. If the browser struggles, split the batch into smaller groups.
Why did one of my files fail to convert?
Usually the file is not actually a HEIC image, for example a JPG that was renamed with a .heic extension. A failed file shows an error on its own row and does not stop the rest of the batch.
