How to convert HEIC to JPG online
Add your HEIC photos
Drop .heic or .heif files onto the tool, click to browse, or paste them from your clipboard. Any number of photos can go in at once.
Let the conversion run
Each photo converts to JPEG automatically at 90 percent quality, and every row shows the original size next to the converted size as it finishes.
Choose the output format or quality
Pick JPEG, PNG, or WebP, and drag the quality slider between 10 and 100 percent to re-convert the whole batch. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider hides for it.
Download your photos
Save photos one at a time from their rows, or download the entire batch together as a single ZIP.
Why use this tool
Batch conversion by default
Drop any number of HEIC or HEIF photos and they convert in one pass, each with its own progress, result size, and download button.
Convert to JPEG, PNG, or WebP
Pick the output format after dropping photos. JPEG and WebP share an adjustable quality slider from 10 to 100 percent; PNG is lossless and keeps every pixel exactly.
Filenames handled for you
Every photo keeps its name with the extension switched to match the output format, and batches of two or more download together as one ZIP.
Failures do not stop the batch
A file that cannot be converted shows an error on its own row while the remaining photos carry on.
Nothing leaves your browser
Photos are converted on your device. No upload, no server, no account.
About this tool
HEIC is the High Efficiency Image Container format that iPhones have used by default since iOS 11. Apple adopted it because it stores photos at roughly half the file size of JPEG at comparable quality, which saves a lot of space across a camera roll. The trade-off is compatibility: Windows machines, older editing software, and plenty of upload forms either refuse .heic files outright or cannot display them, which is usually the moment people go looking for a converter.
This tool converts HEIC and HEIF photos to JPEG, PNG, or WebP entirely in your browser. Drop any number of files and conversion starts immediately as JPEG at 90 percent quality. Switch the output format whenever you like, and for JPEG or WebP a slider re-encodes the whole batch smaller or with more detail. Each row reports the original size next to the converted size. Single photos download directly, and batches of two or more can be saved together as one ZIP, with every filename already switched to the new extension.
Two expectations worth setting. JPEG and WebP are lossy formats, so those conversions re-encode the image, though at the default setting the difference is rarely visible; choose PNG when you want every pixel preserved. And because HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPEG, the converted file is often larger than the original; that is normal. If the results need to be smaller, run them through the image compressor afterwards.
Photos are processed on your device and never uploaded, so private shots stay private. Once converted, the photos work with everything else here, like changing formats again in the image format converter or combining a batch into a single document with images to PDF.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
- Drop one or more .heic or .heif files onto the tool, click to browse, or paste them from your clipboard. Conversion starts immediately as JPEG at 90 percent quality, and you can switch the output to PNG or WebP. Download each file from its row, or save a whole batch at once as a ZIP.
- Can I convert HEIC to PNG or WebP instead of JPG?
- Yes. After dropping your photos, pick JPEG, PNG, or WebP as the output format and the whole batch re-converts. JPEG and WebP have an adjustable quality slider; PNG is lossless and keeps every pixel exactly.
- What is a HEIC file?
- HEIC is the image format iPhones have used by default since iOS 11. It stores photos at roughly half the size of an equivalent JPEG, but many programs, websites, and Windows versions cannot open it, which is why converting to JPG is so common.
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device and are never sent to a server.
- Will converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?
- Some, because JPEG is a lossy format, as is WebP. At the default 90 percent setting the difference is rarely visible, and PNG output is lossless if you want every pixel preserved. Note that the converted file will often be larger than the HEIC original, since HEIC compresses more efficiently.
- How many photos can I convert at once?
- There is no fixed limit. Photos convert one after another on your device, so very large batches are bound by your computer's memory. If the browser struggles, split the batch into smaller groups.
- Why did one of my files fail to convert?
- Usually the file is not actually a HEIC image, for example a JPG that was renamed with a .heic extension. A failed file shows an error on its own row and does not stop the rest of the batch.
